Whether it’s an academic, greek or any social organization, their chapters are nationally recognize. With each issue we’ll attempt to discover their origins and highlight their achievements in order to get a better understanding on the purpose they serve.

Purpose of the Organization:

The purpose of LPLS is to provide a solid professional, educational, progressive, supportive, and networking foundation within the Latino community in the legal profession, the Latino population at UC Berkeley, and the community at large. LPLS is a non-partisan organization that focuses on a progressive agenda that prepares and empowers Latinos to pursue a legal education and/or career.

 


Service Provided:

Mentorship program with Boalt Law students, access to Boalt Law library,   workshops regarding the law school application process, academic bulletins that include leads to scholarships, fellowships (such as the Berkeley Law Raza Law Journal), and legal related events. Our org prides itself in its work in social justice. Our main work is done at Centro Legal de La Raza in Oakland, Ca where we assist attorneys in helping clients at worker's rights clinics.
